TrailMath in Claude and ChatGPT

Add TrailMath as a connector and ask about real trail races: course facts, finish-time estimates and a sample of your training plan, from the same data and engine as the app.

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector and paste this address. Custom connectors need a Claude plan that supports them.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode in Settings, open Connectors, create a connector and paste this address. No sign-in is needed.

What it can do

search_race
Finds races in the TrailMath catalogue and lets you pick the exact distance.
get_race_profile
Course facts: distance, elevation, checkpoints, cutoffs for the coming edition, the biggest climbs and the latest results.
predict_race_time
A finish-time range from one past result or a UTMB/ITRA index, with the same model as the Race Time Predictor.
get_aid_station_example
A fixed example of an aid-station roadbook, to show how splits and pacing are laid out.
plan_preview
An anonymous sample of your training plan: the first two weeks in full, then the season outline.
save_preview_for_trailmath
Claude only: saves your answers so you can continue in the TrailMath app, if you ask it to.

Try asking

  • What are the checkpoints and cutoffs on the UTMB?
  • I ran a 50 km with 3,000 m of climbing in 7 h 10 min. What could I run at the Diagonale des Fous?
  • Show me the first two weeks of a training plan for a 60 km trail race next May. I run about 5 hours a week, 4 days.

In Claude, after the sample: "Continue in TrailMath" gives you a link that pre-fills the app's setup.

Continuing in TrailMath

When you ask Claude to continue, your answers are saved for 30 days and Claude gives you a sign-up link. Open it, sign up or log in, and tap Import on setup. Nothing is added to an account before that tap, and you still review every answer, health questions included, before your plan is built. It is for new TrailMath accounts; if you already have a plan, add the race as an objective in the app instead.

Good to know

  • TrailMath covers a limited catalogue of races. If a race is missing, the assistant should say so rather than guess.
  • Estimates are ranges from a statistical model, not guarantees. The training sample is generated without your history, health or injuries and is not medical advice.
  • The sample and the import are meant for adults. Requests are rate-limited; if the connector is busy, try again in a minute.

Privacy

There is no TrailMath account on this path. We store no IP address and log no answers, only aggregate counts per tool. Anthropic and OpenAI run the conversation under their own privacy policies.

Troubleshooting

  • The connector does not appear: check that you pasted the address for the right assistant, with https://.
  • "Temporarily unavailable": the service is busy or being updated. Try again in a few minutes.
  • The link from Claude no longer works: links expire 30 days after saving, and must be used within 30 minutes of opening. Ask Claude to save again.
